River Lake is undertaking monitoring of Maketū Estuary on behalf of Bay of Plenty Regional Council. We have been sampling water quality, microbial water quality of shellfish flesh, installing loggers, algal cover, sediment accumulation, sediment quality, benthic macrofauna and pipi surveys.
